Rushing to slow down?

I found myself panicked rushing around looking for this forgetting that... "WHERE THE HELL ARE MY KEYS?!" I finally got out the door and found myself speeding down the road... "I'VE GOT... TO GET...

TO YOGA!"

Then it dawned on me in that moment - a flash of Consciousness that cut through the unconscious chaos....

"What on earth am I doing?"

.... "What are we all doing?"

Rushing around at such a pace, is enough to give one whiplash.

"Busy" A word many use like a badge of success, like its something to be proud of - not having time for what really matters. It’s often used as an excuse for not doing the things we know would be best for us, even for not doing what we want to do. A way to abandon self-care or reduce time spent with those that matter. It’s become the new cool word people use without even thinking.

I often hear it used as an excuse to abandon care of self.

"I missed lunch today because I was so busy"

"Sorry I didn’t make it over, I got busy"

"I don’t have time for that I’m too busy"

"Sorry I didn't call, I ran out of time"

"Busy" – I feel it in my body as

  • Deadline

  • Hurry

  • Tension

  • Contraction

  • Stress

I invite you to slow down Only as we slow down can we hear the whispers of our soul, inviting us to slow to life and to live as we are meant to. I invite you to slow down, take a deep breath and be with what is here right now. Take a moment to ask yourself, why you do what you do? What matters to you? Don’t get caught in the minute details, the hustle and bustle, those distractions that pull you away from what really matters. The dizzying pace at which our culture propels itself is contrary to a happy and healthy life. We suffer from an avalanche of bodily ills and ailments of the soul that can be traced back to one simple cause: Pace.

I am talking about the kind of speed that has us unconsciously moving through our day, that pushes us beyond the body’s natural capacity and leaves us unfulfilled and exhausted by day's end. Such speed prompts us to abandon our deeper self and our true purpose for being here, leaving us with toxic thoughts and troublesome emotions that age the body and harden the heart. Fortunately there’s an effective remedy for this speed disease. Its called

SLOWING DOWN!

I promise you don’t have to starve, restrict or punish yourself in order to have a healthy body, a full life and a happy heart. I care deeply, am passionate about this work and am inspired to share and teach others a better way to sustainable health, weight loss and self-love that resonates from the inside out.
